Indoor Climate-Controlled Shop 4-Stage Water Filtration Classic & High-Value Specialists
Our Philosophy

Slow is smooth.
Smooth isflawless.

Most paint problems aren't caused by neglect — they're caused by haste. A two-hour wash that drags grit across a clear coat. A coating laid on a 110-degree summer day, flashing off before it can level. Mineral-laden tap water left to bake on a fender, etching spots that won't polish out.

We work the other way around. Every vehicle gets the same documented sequence — decontamination, correction, coating — performed by hand inside our private climate-controlled shop, with filtered water at every stage. Temperature in spec. Dust kept out. Nothing rushed.

That's the methodical part. The detailing is just what we do once the discipline is in place.

The Methodical Sequence

  1. Inspect Paint depth readings, swirl assessment, condition photo log.
  2. Decontaminate Filtered foam wash, iron remover, clay-bar treatment.
  3. Correct Single-, two-, or multi-stage paint correction by hand.
  4. Coat Ceramic application held at the manufacturer's 60–75°F window.
  5. Cure & Confirm Indoor 24-hour cure, walkthrough, and written care instructions.

The Water

Four stages.
Zero spots.

Pahrump's tap water is some of the hardest in Nevada — packed with calcium, magnesium, dissolved silica, and chlorine treatment chemistry. Run that water across a clear coat in the desert sun and it doesn't just leave spots — it bakes mineral deposits *into* the paint that no polish can pull back out.

So before any water touches your vehicle in our shop, it passes through a four-stage commercial filtration system. Sediment, chlorine, hardness minerals, and dissolved solids — all removed in sequence. What hits your paint is essentially distilled.

Why this matters
0 PPM dissolved solids
vs. 250–400 PPM straight from the tap. The difference between water that beads off cleanly and water that etches your finish overnight.

Our Shop

Built in Pahrump.
For the carsworth keeping.

Methodical Detailing & Coating is a Pahrump-based studio focused on ceramic coating, paint correction, and meticulous detailing for classic and high-value vehicles across Nye County and the western Las Vegas Valley.

Pahrump sits in one of the most punishing climates in the country for paint — UV that never quits, hard mineral water, fine alkali dust, and 110-degree summers. We built our process around exactly those conditions: a private climate-controlled shop, four-stage water filtration, and the kind of deliberate, by-appointment cadence that lets a coating actually do its job.

By appointment only. We take fewer cars on purpose. The ones we do take, we know by name.

Frequently Asked

The questions we hear most.

If you don't find what you're looking for here, the fastest answer is a phone call. We answer it ourselves.

How much does ceramic coating cost in Pahrump?
For most vehicles, a full paint correction with a multi-year ceramic coating runs between $950 and $2,850. The variation comes from the size of the vehicle, the condition of the paint going in, and the duration of coating you choose (1-, 3-, 5-, or 7-year). We give a firm quote in person after a 15-minute walkaround — never sight unseen. Read the full ceramic coating page →
Why does the shop use a 4-stage water filtration system?
Pahrump's tap water is exceptionally hard — typically 250–400 PPM total dissolved solids, with high calcium and chlorine. Unfiltered water leaves spotting on paint, etches into clear coat under sun, and contaminates the surface chemistry that ceramic coatings need to bond. Our 4-stage system removes sediment, chlorine, hardness minerals, and dissolved solids in sequence — what hits your paint is essentially distilled, with 0 PPM TDS.
How long does a ceramic coating actually last in Nevada's climate?
Properly applied, a quality ceramic coating performs at full strength for the duration of its tier — five to seven years for our top coatings. Coating durability is set on day one: prep, temperature, humidity, water quality, and cure environment. A coating laid over un-corrected paint locks defects in. A coating applied outdoors in Nevada heat flashes off before it levels. Either failure can shorten a five-year coating to five months. Everything we do is built around removing those variables.
Why does the shop need to be climate-controlled?
Ceramic coatings are reactive chemistry. The manufacturer's published application window is roughly 60–75°F, low humidity, no direct sun, no airborne dust — and the coating needs that environment for the full 24-hour cure, not just the application. In Pahrump, outdoor surface temperatures on a paint panel routinely hit 120–140°F from late spring through early fall. Apply a coating to a surface that hot and the solvents flash off before the coating has time to level and bond properly.
Do you work on classic and collector vehicles?
Yes — that's the heart of what we do. Single-stage lacquer paint, original survivor finishes, custom restorations, low-mileage originals. Each requires a different approach and we take the time to assess each car individually before we recommend anything. We're comfortable saying "your paint doesn't need correction" when it doesn't.
What's the difference between paint correction and ceramic coating?
Paint correction is the process of removing defects — swirls, scratches, oxidation, water etching — by carefully leveling the clear coat. Ceramic coating is a separate step that goes on top, providing long-term protection. You can have correction without coating, but you should never put coating over un-corrected paint — you'll just lock the defects in for years.
Do you offer mobile service or pickup and delivery?
We don't offer mobile coating or correction work, and we won't — the application requirements (controlled temperature, no UV exposure, dust-free air, filtered water, indoor cure) can't be met in a driveway or carport. For longtime maintenance plan clients in Pahrump, we can arrange pickup and delivery to and from our shop on a case-by-case basis. Just ask.
How far in advance should I book?
Two to three weeks is typical for a full correction-and-coating appointment. Touch-up details for plan members can usually be scheduled within the week. We intentionally take fewer cars at a time, so the calendar fills earlier than most shops.
Do you serve Las Vegas, Henderson, and Summerlin?
Yes. Our shop is in Pahrump but we welcome clients from across Nye County, the western Las Vegas Valley (Summerlin, Mountain's Edge, southwest Las Vegas), Henderson, and the California border. The drive in is part of the appointment for most of our out-of-town clients — we recommend planning a half-day for an in-person quote if you're not already in Pahrump. More on serving Las Vegas →
Do you coat RVs and motorhomes?
Yes — Pahrump's only indoor RV ceramic coating service. Class A, B, C, fifth wheels, and travel trailers. Pricing is per linear foot with full polish included; awning, roof seal, and wheel coatings are available as add-ons. Read the RV coating page →
